As a senior citizen, you may have signed up for a computer workshop to learn basic computer skills or something new. It's also a great opportunity to socialize and meet new people. However, most seniors are now turning to private computer lessons with a personal tutor. Most private lessons take place in their own home, a coffee shop, office or library. Why? Well, here are some advantages of private computer lessons.

You can choose the frequency of your personal computer lessons and eliminate any worries of falling behind others in the class, or missing a class due to illness or other chores. Familiarity When you learn on your own computer you have a consistent learning environment that you are used to. It gives you and the tutor the opportunity to fully personalise your private computer lessons, your computer settings and common software programs to match your specifics needs. The computer and software that you use at a seminar may be a different version to what you have at home. Privacy When you have a private tutor, you don’t have to compete with others for his or her attention. You can ask for help and questions during your session without any competition from other students. The tutor is also able to spend more time with you and identify your specific areas of weakness. I'm getting my PhD. I'm 82. I need a long term tutor who knows APA Style formatting. I'd start now with 4-6 hours a week, to learn more of the basics. I live in Ottawa & Montreal, so it all has to be online. How much do you charge?
