Seniors Tech Services offers small group workshops on different topics on a regular basis at our offices. All our computer workshops are affordable and led by highly skilled facilitators who understand the needs of seniors.

Our aim is to hold digital literacy workshops that have five main features:

Highly interactive.
Opportunities for questions throughout the session.
Generate interest and new ideas from participants.
Provide new knowledge in a seamless and easy to understand format.
Make it fun and interesting.

Group sessions and seminars

Minimum 4 persons
Clients must provide their own laptops or tablets or iPhones.
We offer seminars and computer training at various facilities, including our offices, retirement homes, seniors clubs, hospices, community centres.
We offer customized Power Point presentations in our group sessions on a number of subjects based on the interests of the group, Examples include “Introduction to computers,” “Introduction to Microsoft Word,” and others
Duration: A typical seminar usually lasts two to three hours. The first hour is the presentation, and then a break. The second hour is questions. We can spend the third hour practicing and helping clients with their unique situation.
We provide a wide variety of computer courses primarily for adults age 50 and over in a warm and friendly environment.

Full Day Seminars (8 hours)

We also offer full day programs to our clients in our office to learn computers and socialise with others.

This unique program offers the opportunity to learn from tutors and learn and interact with others.

The full day seminars are offered subject to full class signups. (Minimum 10 students). Watch this space for dates.

One of our favourite topics for all day workshops is Windows Teams.

Windows Teams is a collaborative platform from Microsoft that allows teams in companies and non profit organisationations to work together seamlessly, communicate effectively. Creating and assigning tasks and roles becomes easier.

Each student must bring a laptop and USB Flash Drive to each course to save their work. If you do not have a Flash Drive, the Office has a limited number available for a $10.00 fee.

Fees

Fees depend on the course covered and can be obtained upon inquiry
Class fees include textbooks and other class materials.

If you would like to learn Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and more please feel free to contact us.
We can teach your group online on Zoom or in person.

CANCELLATIONS

Fees are charged where bookings are cancelled within 24 hours of the appointment time. The cancellation fee is $25 per person. To avoid cancellation charges, please inform your teacher of your intention to cancel your booking within 24 – 48 hours of the appointment time.

This way we are able to fill your place in the schedule with someone on the waiting list.

Group workshops cancelled within 14 days of the date of the workshop:

We will refund 50% of the total fee as we would have already prepared handouts and presentations for the workshop.

Some of our workshops are also delivered by seniors, experienced educators who understand the unique challenges that seniors face when learning technology. They use a patient and supportive approach to help seniors build their confidence and develop the skills they need to use computers and enjoy the internet.
